A Travel and Lifestyle network with working name of “Destination Discovery” needed a branding and a network package. The project called for the graphics, and messaging, to be “playful, bold, and unexpected”.
In building the Mood Board for the client, I found myself drawn to color blocking paired with retro-inspired geometric shapes found in many vintage travel brands, used luggage tags and directional signage. As seen in my styleframes, the shapes and colors both served as valuable framing, and transitional devices for footage…typography… and imagery. Additional elements, such as humorous iconography to replace type, and illustrative elements, were used in the visual language for IDs and content info.
