Mermaids and dragons…what’s not to like! Tauck European River Cruises wanted to tell the “tale of the river gods” and that included… you guessed it… a mermaid and a dragon. Since I’m always discussing how fond I am of dragons and mermaids, Toil knew I’d be perfect for some stylized character designs to present to the client.
As usual, I worked up some unique Mood Boards first, and then did my character design thing to round out the presentation. One of my personal favorite illustrations I’ve done ever. “The Red Haired Mermaid”… is the first illustration below. I literally just now named her for you guys.
